How long does inpatient treatment last?

The length of treatment depends on the client’s needs. Detox takes around 3 to 7 days, varying based on the individual and the substance they used*. The core program lasts 30 days. However, clients who need to stay longer can do so at our discretion.

* For high-risk substances like fentanyl, detox may take longer.

Do you offer drug and alcohol detox?

Clients who need to detox from drugs and alcohol do so onsite. We provide a medical detox, overseen by healthcare professionals. The process entails around-the-clock supervision to ensure the safety and comfort of every client.

How does a day in inpatient treatment look?

During the week, every day in treatment will include one or more therapy modules. These may be group sessions, individual therapy, therapy courses, nutrition guidance, and more. Part of the day will be set aside for visitors and free time. Residents are encouraged to exercise regularly and have the time to pursue hobbies and leisure activities.

Do you treat co-occurring disorders?

Addiction rarely occurs in isolation. In most cases, there is one or more co-occurring mental health disorder. As a dual diagnosis treatment center, we treat both the addiction and any co-occurring disorders. Our team includes mental health specialists with experience in addiction and mental illness.

Do you treat trauma?

Since trauma can trigger addiction and mental illnesses, our team is trained to identify any such significant events. We will help you find the roots of your addiction, treating any trauma-related issues.

Is the program based on the 12 Steps?

While we may incorporate principles from the 12-Step Program for those who ask, our core program is not based on the 12 Steps. The 12 Steps work for some people but not others. We have designed our program using scientifically-proven strategies so as to provide the best outcomes for every single person who walks through our doors. Recovery looks different for each person, but there are certain strategies that are effective time and time again.

Does family need to be involved?

Addiction is often called a family disease, as it impacts every member of the family. As such, family therapy is provided as part of the recovery program at ARC. Of course, family can choose to opt out of treatment, but it is highly encouraged.

Do you provide aftercare?

Recovery does not end when you leave the premises. On the contrary, before you are discharged, you will work with your primary therapist to determine the best way to continue treatment. You will not be alone in this process. Our aftercare services include continued individual and group therapy sessions. We will also work with the therapist or doctor who referred you to the center to ensure continuity of care.

Do you provide transport to and from the airport?

We provide transport to and from the airport for people flying in from out of state.

What will I eat during the stay?

We will provides first-class, nutritious meals, prepared by a professional chef and catering team. Clients who have specific dietary requirements or preferences will be catered to. You can look forward to delicious meals three times a day.

Can I invite visitors?

Visitors who are approved by your therapist are welcome during visiting hours.

What should I pack for my stay?

Are there outings during the program?

We provide day trips to popular attractions in Burbank, such as the Griffith Observatory, famous film studios, and local museums. We also offer regular hikes with spectacular views and day trips to the beach.
